Inatech’s Srihari Vedante and Chris Baker joined the athletes last night at the world’s fastest wheelchair race. Britain’s top racing duo reigned supreme winning the male and female races. The men’s winner, Beijing double gold medallist, David Weir hit 44 mph on the downhill. The women’s race saw GB’s Shelly Woods, a Beijing silver medal winner, cross the line ahead of the field, with a finish time of 5.33.4.
But it wasn’t all plane sailing for the racers, the women were seriously impeded by the tail enders in the men’s race; Shelly swerving to the right to miss Mickey Bushell and Amanda actually breaking to avoid careering into the rear of Tushar Patel.

Inatech was a key sponsor of the event and Inatech’s Chris Baker, reported from the finish line:
"It's two kilometres of high adrenalin racing. The end of the race is uphill so it takes stamina and planning to win - this appeals to Inatech. We know that finishing well takes tenacity as well as talent."

Joining VIP guests in a celebration after the event, Srihari Vedante commented:
"It's high speed, high tech and highly competitive. Inatech loves a challenge and this is one of the most gruelling.”
David Burdus, Race Promoter, said, “Disabled people in sport? They’re not really up there. This event is changing that. We are shattering traditional stereotypes of disabled people in sport. To all those people who decided to get behind this event this year - good on you.”
