BMC Software's new model announced to help take the load off

The new model of BMC Software’s Control-M workload management software for enterprises was announced this week – Control-M 7. Firms will dynamically manage workloads and thus keep up with the constantly changing arena of business priorities to resources – which will be maximised and cost will be controlled.

BMC Control-M 7 will also help support cloud and virtual environments – this means that companies can be flexible with the workloads as the goal posts move. Whether a virtual or physical environment, on or off site, and regardless of use – the company, with the ultra-portable product architecture, can enable a cloud to match workloads.

"With features such as Dynamic Workload Automation, cloud and virtualisation capabilities, as well as scenario-based recovery and compliance reporting, BMC Control-M 7 provides the best solution to align IT workloads with business needs and reduce costs," said Bill Miller, president of mainframe service management at BMC.

By decreasing errors and increasing control and flexibility, costs are cut and pressure is taken off administrators. Over 2,300 companies use the BMC Control-M solution, and with 25 years since its conception, it has been used for over 50 million job executions a month. The new Control-M 7 makes sure BMC and its clients are keeping up with the rise of the virtual world and on top of the workload.
