The Oracle Developer Day Online event was an eye opener toward Oracle JDeveloper 11g, ADF Framework and Rich Internet Applications. This event was packed with expert content, real-life solutions, hands-on labs and speaker-led demos.
We had 3 sessions delivered by Grant Ronald, Product/Strategy Manager for ADF. He explained about the development platform Oracle uses for its Fusion enterprise applications. The sessions covered the following areas:
1) The Fusion Development Platform-An Overview of Oracle ADF 11g
2) Developing Reusable Business Components
3) Creating Rich Internet Applications
There was a hands on session where he demoed a couple of applications built using Oracle JDeveloper 11g as a development environment and Oracle ADF 11g as the framework. The highlight was the ease in which he created the application and got it running on the JDeveloper
environment. He also stated that the Fusion Application stack coming up for the next release of Oracle Application used the ADF framework demoed in the session.
There were a lot of questions about getting up to speed with the new technology and how it could be achieved. Oracle will be hosting road shows with demonstration sessions to make the development experience relevant to the use, needs and practice of businesses.
The demo tools and software used for the session are available free on Oracle's website. I downloaded the same and recreated the application that was created in the demo. I found out that the CRUD (Create Update and Delete) application was so easy to create.
